JAMESTOWN - Jamestown secured a 3-0 victory over Bismarck St. Mary's in their conference opener, improving to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the WDA. St. Mary's fell to 1-6 overall and 0-1 in the WDA.
Amelia Newman led Jamestown with 11 kills, while Hannah Attleson directed the offense with 23 assists. Adisyn Yunck contributed significantly from the service line with five aces, adding to the team's strong performance.
For St. Mary's, Mataya Messer recorded 10 kills and five blocks, showcasing her versatility on both offense and defense. Sophia Schlinger provided 13 assists, and Sophia Link led the team with nine digs.
Jamestown will next face Williston, who are looking for their first win, on September 6. Bismarck St. Mary's will seek to rebound against Bismarck on September 4.
