KINDRED - Kindred High School opened their season with a commanding 42-12 victory over Devils Lake, moving to 1-0 overall, while Devils Lake fell to 0-1 in non-conference play.
Kindred's offense was led by a strong performance from quarterback Gabe Whipple, who threw for 170 yards and three touchdowns on 7-of-12 passing. Running back Brock Johnson was dominant on the ground, rushing for 169 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, averaging 13 yards per carry.
On the defensive side, Kindred's Brooks Bakko made significant contributions with 60 receiving yards and a touchdown. The defense also recorded five sacks, showcasing their ability to pressure the quarterback consistently throughout the game.
