MINOT - Minot North defeated Grand Forks Red River 45-14 on Friday night, improving to 3-0 overall, while Red River fell to 1-2.
Minot North's offense was led by Cooper Chick, who rushed for 114 yards on nine carries, scoring two touchdowns, including a 57-yard breakaway run. Quarterback Brayden Blikre added to the scoring with a passing touchdown to Gavin Tobey and two rushing touchdowns of his own.
The Minot North defense was anchored by Tobey, who not only contributed offensively but also recorded six tackles and an interception. The team held Red River to just 14 points, with one of those touchdowns coming from a 37-yard interception return.
Minot North's victory marked their second game of the season scoring over 40 points, showcasing a potent offense and a strong start to their campaign.
