DEVILS LAKE - Devils Lake High School triumphed over Jamestown with a final score of 41-27 in a Western Dakota Association conference matchup on Friday night. The victory improved Devils Lake's record to 1-0 in the WDA and 4-1 overall, while Jamestown fell to 0-1 in the conference and 1-4 overall.
Devils Lake's offensive prowess was on full display, amassing 501 total yards. The home team's rushing attack was particularly dominant, with 310 yards on 36 carries. Their quarterback completed 15 of 22 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing a balanced offensive strategy.
Jamestown's Liam Frey was a standout performer despite the loss, rushing for 218 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries. Frey also contributed in the receiving game with a 45-yard catch. Quarterback Karson Schmidt added 91 passing yards and a touchdown but was intercepted twice.
With this win, Devils Lake maintains their strong start to the season, while Jamestown looks to regroup as they continue their conference play.
