DEVILS LAKE - In a thrilling conference matchup, Devils Lake edged past Dickinson 28-24 on Friday night, improving their record to 3-1 in the Western Dakota Association and 6-2 overall. Dickinson fell to 1-3 in the conference and 2-6 overall.
Devils Lake quarterback Mason Palmer was instrumental in the victory, completing 23 of 38 passes for 403 yards and two touchdowns. Palmer connected with William Heilman for a crucial 53-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, which proved pivotal in securing the win. Bryar Exner also made significant contributions, with 84 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Dickinson's offense was led by Nathan Stevenson, who threw for 323 yards and two touchdowns. Paxton Lyson was a key target, hauling in 11 receptions for 143 yards and a touchdown. Despite their efforts, Dickinson's defense struggled to contain Devils Lake's potent passing attack.
With this win, Devils Lake remains in strong contention within the WDA, while Dickinson will look to regroup as they approach the final stretch of the season.
