BISMARCK - Devils Lake dominated Bismarck St. Mary's with a resounding 55-14 victory, improving their record to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the Western Dakota Association, while St. Mary's fell to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Devils Lake's Bryar Exner was a standout performer, rushing for 178 yards on 18 carries and scoring three touchdowns. His efforts were complemented by Mason Palmer, who threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns on 12 completions out of 20 attempts. Palmer also contributed with an 8-yard rushing touchdown.
St. Mary's initially took the lead with a 22-yard touchdown pass from Thomas Wilson to Brady Ruggles, but Devils Lake responded with a series of scoring plays, including a 53-yard interception return for a touchdown by Will Heilman. Beckett Price led St. Mary's ground game with 116 yards on 15 carries, including a 56-yard touchdown run.
With this victory, Devils Lake set a season-high in points scored and continued their unbeaten streak in conference play. St. Mary's will look to rebound in their upcoming matchups.
