BISMARCK - Minot North continued their dominant start to the season with a commanding 28-0 victory over Bismarck St. Mary's on Friday night, improving to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the Western Dakota Association. St. Mary's dropped to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Minot North's offense was led by Brayden Blikre, who opened the scoring with a 10-yard touchdown run and later connected with Cooper Chick for a 45-yard touchdown pass. Chick was also a force on the ground, rushing for 97 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown. Blikre finished the night with 104 passing yards, completing 7 of 13 attempts.
The Sentinels' defense was just as impressive, highlighted by Harrison Schaefer's 30-yard interception return for a touchdown. Braxton Thompson added a sack and a 10-yard rushing touchdown, while Ethan Howey and Will Bentley each recorded a sack. St. Mary's struggled offensively, with Beckett Price's 148 rushing yards on 10 carries being a lone bright spot.
Minot North's victory marks their fifth consecutive game scoring 28 or more points. The Sentinels will look to maintain their unbeaten streak as they continue conference play, while Bismarck St. Mary's aims to rebound from the tough loss.
