BISMARCK - Bismarck Century edged out Bismarck Legacy with a 33-27 victory on Thursday night at MDU Resources Community Bowl, improving their record to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the Western Dakota Association. Legacy fell to 5-3 overall and 2-2 in the WDA.
Noah Herr led the Patriots with a standout performance, completing 9 of 14 passes for 113 yards and three touchdowns. Herr also contributed significantly on the ground, rushing for 114 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. Zakai Harildstad and Joey Kraljic were key targets, with Harildstad catching a 34-yard touchdown pass and Kraljic adding a 24-yard touchdown reception.
Legacy's Jack Julson was a bright spot for the Sabers, amassing over 200 all-purpose yards and scoring three times, including a 100-yard kickoff return. Quarterback Brody Weigel connected with Julson for two touchdown passes and added a rushing touchdown of his own, but it wasn't enough to overcome Century's balanced attack.
With the win, Century clinched a top-two finish in the WDA standings, solidifying their position as a conference powerhouse. Legacy will look to rebound in their next matchup as they aim to improve their standing in the competitive WDA.
