BISMARCK - In a tightly contested matchup, Bismarck Century edged out Bismarck 14-13 to remain undefeated in the Western Dakota Association, improving to 5-0 in conference play and 7-2 overall. Bismarck dropped to 4-2 in the WDA and 6-4 overall.
Century's defense was pivotal, holding Bismarck to just 13 points. Linebacker Johnson was instrumental, recording a key interception in the third quarter that halted a promising Bismarck drive. On offense, Century's quarterback, Smith, connected with receiver Larson for a crucial 40-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.
Bismarck's offense was led by running back Davis, who scored both of their touchdowns and rushed for over 100 yards, showcasing his ability to break through Century's defensive line. Despite their efforts, Bismarck's passing game struggled, with quarterback Lee completing only 50% of his passes under pressure from Century's defensive front.
The victory solidifies Century's position at the top of the WDA standings, while Bismarck will look to rebound in their next matchup to improve their playoff positioning.
