Several WDA teams, wrestlers top first coaches' poll

BISMARCK – Bismarck Legacy topped the first state boy’s wrestling coaches’ poll for the 2025-26 season. The Sabers bring back a talented group of grapplers expected to challenge for region and state tournament individual championships. Four Legacy wrestlers are currently ranked in the top two in their respective weigth division. Dickinson, meanwhile, was second in team polling with Bismarck Century in third.
Defending state champion Bismarck High was fourth followed by EDC members WF Sheyenne in fifth and Fargo Davies in sixth. Mandan is seventh with Williston, eighth; EDC member G.F Central, ninth; and Watford City, 10th. Three more polls will be released leading up to the postseason tournaments. In the individual rankings, 11 WDA wrestlers hold down the top spot.
As the calendar flips into Decembers will begin the first of three hectic months of competing on the mat.
