Jamestown defeats Minot North, 3-0

MINOT - Jamestown remained unbeaten in WDA play, but the Blue Jays had to earn it on Sept. 18. The Blue Jays swept Minot North, but the host Sentinels pushed them in a pair of sets. Jamestown improved to 5-0 in the Western Dakota Association and 9-2 overall. Minot North fell to 4-3 in the WDA and 6-7 overall.
Jamestown displayed a balanced attack with several players contributing to the victory. Lucy Falk had a match-high 15 kills and 16 digs. Amelia Newman added 10 kills. Hannah Attleson was particulary sharp in her sets, totaling 40. The Blue Jays had 11 blocks, showcasing their dominance at the net.
Minot North's Brynn Francis provided a team-high 11 kills and was also in double figures with 11 digs. Three other North players were in double figures in digs. Kailyn McKechnie led the squad with 17. LeAnne Sim provided 22 assists in setting up the offense.
Jamestown will face Minot, who currently holds a 1-4 WDA record and 6-5 overall, on September 19. Minot North will prepare to host Century, which has a 5-1 WDA record and 7-5 overall, on September 22.
