MANDAN - Minot High opened its Western Dakota Association season with a 3-0 victory over Mandan, improving to 1-0 in conference play and 6-1 overall. Mandan falls to 0-1 in the WDA and 4-3 overall.
Brooke Bedell led Minot with a match-high 13 kills, showcasing her offensive prowess throughout the match. The first set was closely contested, with Minot edging out Mandan by just two points, setting the tone for the remainder of the match. The Majettes were good at the net, recording 11 blocks.
Mandan displayed a balanced attack with five players recording five or more kills, highlighting their depth and teamwork. Despite the loss, Mandan's effort on the court was commendable, as they pushed Minot in each set.
Minot will look to continue their strong start as they face Legacy (1-0 WDA, 4-3 overall) on September 3. Mandan will aim to bounce back against Century (1-0 WDA, 3-4 overall) on the same day.
