BISMARCK - Legacy opened their season with a commanding 48-27 victory over West Fargo Sheyenne, moving to 1-0 overall while Sheyenne fell to 0-1.
Legacy's Beckham Presley-McKay powered the ground game, rushing for 175 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Weston Kraft contributed with six completions for 74 yards, including two touchdown passes to Josh Link.
Link was a key target, finishing with 52 yards on five receptions. Tyler Krukenberg added to the scoreboard with two field goals and a perfect performance on extra points. Defensively, Blaze Miller led the Sabers with seven tackles. The win marked the Sabers' third consecutive to open a season and second straight over the Mustangs.
Legacy will face West Fargo on September 4, while West Fargo Sheyenne prepares to meet Minot, also on September 4.
