CENTRAL CASS - Central Cass turned a tight game into a commanding win with a couple of key second half plays to secure a 35-6 victory over Jamestown in a non-conference Division AA matchup on Sept. 11. The win improved the Squirrels to 2-1 overall, while Jamestown fell to 1-2.
The Blue Jays trailed just 6-0 at the half, but Central Cass pull away with four-straight TDs in the second half. Benji Boway's 21-yard extended the 6-0 lead. Jamestown's lone score came on a Braden Hemminger 10-yard run in the final quarter. He had a team-best 72 yards on 15 carries. The Central Cass front line play made it hard for Jamestown to generate much on offense. The Blue Jays had just 178 yards of total offense.
Looking ahead, it doesn't an easier for Jamestown, who will face Division AA powerhouse and unbeaten Kindred on Sept. 18. Central Cass is set to meet Dickinson, with a 3-0 overall record, on the same date.
