VALLEY CITY - Minot North edged Valley City 3-2 in a tightly- contested non-conference boys tennis match on September 11. The Sentinels improved to 6-4 overall.
The match featured intense competition, with both doubles matches requiring super tie-breaks to determine the winners. Minot North managed to secure victory by winning two out of three singles matches, showcasing their strength in individual play.
Brayden Callahan and Lucas Griffith picked up wins at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively. The Sentinels doubles pair of Colton Griffith and Reece Blikre overcame a slow start, winning the second set in a tie-break and then closing out the match with a two-point win in the super set.
Valley City will next face Mandan, who boasts an impressive 3-0 WDA and 8-0 overall record, on September 11. Meanwhile, Minot North is set to compete against West Fargo, currently 0-2 overall, on the same day.
