WEST FARGO - Minot narrowly escaped with a 3-2 victory over EDC perennial power WF Sheyenne on Sept. 11.
The Magi won all three singles matches, but two came down to a super set and were decided by two points each. No. 1 Nolan Moore battled back from a first-set loss to claim win over Sheyenn's Isaac Johnson. Owen Sundahl of Minot also needed a strong effort in the super set to win. Connor Ressler was solid at No. 2 singles with a two-set victory. WF Sheyenne swept the doubles.
Minot will participate in the WF Sheyenne Individual Tournament on Sept. 12 before its key showdown with Mandan on Sept. 15.
