FARGO - For three quarters, Minot North's Ephraim Boakye's leg kept the Sentinels in front of homestanding Fargo North. In the final quarter, Davyion Clemons plunged in from a yard out to give the visitors the cushion they needed to hold on for a 16-14 win over Fargo on Sept. 18. The win was Minot North's second over the Spartans and ended its conference schedule with a 4-0 mark. Fargo North ended its non-conference stretch at 1-3.

Boakye's kicks of 24, 31 and 26 yards were capped off key scoring drives in a game where offense was hard to come by. The Spartans briefly took the lead in the third quarter on Noah Olheiser's 37-yard run. He finished with 53 yards rushing and 65 in the air. Minot North will face St. Mary's (2-2) on September 25 in the Division AA region opener for both teams.
