West Fargo defeats Minot, 35-21

September 11, 2026  ·  Football  ·  WDA Sports

WEST FARGO - West Fargo wasted little time taking command of its non-conference battle with Minot High on Sept. 11. Packer running back Ashton Wigestand weaved to the sidelines and skirted 62 yards deep into Minot High territory on the first play from scrimmage. Five plays later he was in the endzone and West Fargo was on its way to a 35-21 victory. The Packers would build a 28-0 advantage before Minot High's offense would get on track in the second half. The difference makers for WF was tight end Wyatt Knudsen and junior quarterback Ryan Camarillo. Twice Knudsen would haul in touchdown passes. His big 6-6-frame enabled the all-stater to catch the ball in traffic. His scoring completions covered 42 and 21 yards. Camarillo also rushed for a pair of first half scores. Minot found the end zone in the third quarter when quarterback Ryder Sutton evaded the pass rush and connected with Logan Ludwig in the corner of the end zone for a 5-yard completion on fourth down. Sutton would find Tariq Bell for the second Magi score. Sutton managed to keep his footing when it appeared he was falling forward when scrambling out of the pocket. He kept his balance and then threw a strike to Bell, who slipped behind the secondary. Sutton would connect a second time with Ludwig with 4:22 remaining. However, the Magi couldn't draw closer. The win was West Fargo's first of the season and 14th, all-time, vs. Minot.

West Fargo prepares to face Legacy (3-0 overall) next, while Minot looks ahead to a matchup against Fargo Shanley (2-1 overall) on September 18.
