BISMARCK - Century continued its ability to score, netting three in the opening half for a 3-0 win over previoulsy-unbeaten Mandan-St. Mary's on Sept. 3 at the MDU Resources Community Bowl. The victory improved the Pats to 4-1-0 overall and in the WDA, while Mandan-St. Mary's dropped to 2-1-2.
Gaege Gangness opened the scoring for Century with a goal in the first minute, setting the tone for the match. Cale McEvers, the team's leading scorer, added another goal to extend the lead. Teagan Schlichenmeyer put a bow on the first 40 minutes when his shot found the net in the final minute. Charlie Anderson chipped in with two assists. Keeper Brayden Linster turned aside five shots for back-back shutouts.
Century, now on a four-game winning streak, will face Minot (4-0) next. Mandan-St. Mary's will look to bounce back against Jamestown (0-4) on September 8.
