Bismarck defeats Minot North, 3-1

BISMARCK - Bismarck High remained unbeaten in WDA play, but it had to work for it on Sept. 8 at Karlgaard Gymnasium. A scrappy Minot North squad took the second set to tie the match and then went toe-to-toe with the Demons, before succumbing, 3-1. BHS improved to 3-0 in the WDA and 8-1 overall. Minot North's record now stands at 2-2 in the WDA and 4-6 overall.
Bismarck took the first set 25-20, showcasing strong offensive plays. Minot North responded by winning the second set 25-23, leveling the match. However, Bismarck regained control by capturing the third and fourth sets 25-18 and 25-22. The Demons were led by Rosalyn Brunelle's 17 kills and seven digs. Ava Michel added 16 digs in the back row and Bryar Jahner finished with 24 assists. The Sentinels received a strong effort from Brynn Francis, who collected 13 kills and 19 assists and nine digs. Elli Laskowski had 12 kills and LeAnne Sim finished with 23 assists.
Next, Bismarck will face Century, who is also undefeated in WDA play, on September 10. Meanwhile, Minot North will look to bounce back against Minot on September 10.
