MINOT - Legacy secured a decisive 3-0 victory over Minot in a conference volleyball match on Sept. 3 at Minot High Gymnasium, improving to 2-0 in the Western Dakota Association and 5-3 overall. Minot's record now stands at 1-1 in the conference and 6-2 overall.
Zoe Flemmer was instrumental in Legacy's win, orchestrating the offense with 37 assists. Gracie Watson led the team with 12 kills. Defensively, Sammy Watson contributed significantly with 15 digs, helping to keep Minot at bay.
The match saw Legacy maintaining control, with their consistent play leading to a sweep. Minot displayed resilience, but Legacy's all-around performance proved too strong. The Majettes' were led by Leighton Johnson and Kynsli Gillmore who both had seven kills. Kiyah Bergrude added 14 assists and McKenna Odahlen was solid in the back row with 17 digs.
Looking ahead, Legacy will face Jamestown, who holds a 1-0 record in the WDA and 5-2 overall, on September 8. Minot is set to compete against Williston, currently 0-2 in the WDA and 1-7 overall, on the same date.
