JAMESTOWN - Williston opened its season with a good performance at the annaul Jamestown Originals Meet held at Parkhurst Recreation Area north of Jamestown on Aug. 22. The Coyotes team score of 56 was well ahead of runner-up Mandan. Grand Forks Central was third with a 132 score. Bismarck High was fourth with 133 and Dickinson rounded out the top five with 163. Williston junior Travis Frise paced the Coyotes, taking first. He completed the 5,000-meter course in a time of 16:22. took place on August 22, 2026, at Parkhurst Recreation Area. Williston won the team title with a score of 56, followed by Mandan with 116.
Four other WDA runners finished in the top 10. Watford City's Dehico Bocanegra Tovar was third. Cooper Eberle of Bismarck High was fourth. Miles Hanson of Bismarck High was sixth and Zachary Schanandore of Mandan was 10th. This year's event attracted 212 participants and showcased the talent across nine WDA teams under warm and sunny conditions.
